Joe Colombo's inaugural project for Oluce, developed in collaboration with his brother Gianni, showcases their commitment to innovative Italian design. The 281 model, created in 1962, earned the moniker Acrilica for its remarkable use of acrylic, resulting in a significant curved shape. This contemporary piece exemplifies Italian design, transforming a fluorescent lamp enclosed within a painted steel base. The lamp's unique design transforms it into a work of kinetic art rather than a conventional lamp.
