Uno sull’altro 1967 Bookcase by AB 1926 Berdondini is a modern Italian object with a peculiar design accessible from all sides, where overlapping elements can be freely arranged by making them slide freely on each other. Composed of modules with different lengths, self-supporting and surmounted, the bookcase does not consist of a rigid and configured element but it has different degrees of freedom in its vertical and horizontal directions. It follows that, in addition to determining the measures of the finished furniture, the displacements give rise to another dimensional variable, and then to a further level of personalization represented by the ductility in height of the exhibition space. Exhibited at the MoMa in New York during the exhibition of “Controdesign Italy: The New Domestic Landscape 1972”. To complete the décor of the room, it is possible to match Uno sull’altro with other pieces from the Berdondini’s collection.
