Mario Bellini

Born in 1935, Mario Bellini graduated from the Politecnico di Milano in 1959. He now lives and works in Milan, where his activities range from architectural and urban design to furniture and industrial design. Among his awards are 8 Compasso d’Oro and a Medaglia d’Oro conferred on him by the President of the Italian Republic. In 2011 he received the “Ambrogino d’oro,” which is given to the most prestigious citizens of the Municipality of Milan. A onetime editor at Domus, his work can be found in the collections of major art museums such as the MoMA, which once dedicated a personal exhibition to him. He also has 25 works on display in its Permanent Design Collection.
