Karim Rashid

Karim Rashid is a leading figure in the fields of product and interior design, fashion, furniture, lighting and art. Born in Cairo and raised in Canada, this half Egyptian, half Englishman now practices his trade in New York. He is best known for bringing his democratic design sensibility to the masses. To date he has had some 3000 objects put into production, has won more than 300 design awards, and worked in over 40 countries. His work is in the permanent collections of 20 museums worldwide, including the MOMA and that SFMOMA. Karim was also an associate Professor of Industrial Design for 10 years, and is now a frequent guest lecturer at universities and conferences worldwide.
