Ilkka Suppanen
Ilkka Suppanen, born in 1968, studied architecture at the Technical University of Helsinki and Interior and Furniture Design at the University of Art and Design of Helsinki. In 1995 he founded Studio Suppanen, and in 1997 the Snowcrash design cooperative, one of the most significant Finnish design groups active today. Suppanen’s constant interest in production techniques and new materials is visible in much of his work that has been exhibited worldwide, including shows at the Venice Architecture Biennale, the Milan Furniture Fair and the MoMA in New York. His work is also part of the permanent collections of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, and the Museum Für Angewandte Kunst in Köln.
