Gae Aulenti
Gae Aulenti (1927-2012) was born in Udine. She graduated with a degree in architecture in 1953, from the Politecnico di Milano, and began working in architectural, interior and industrial design, as well as theater and set design. In January 2005, she founded the Gae Aulenti Associates Architects. She was involved in some of the most famous architectural works of our time, such as the completion of the Musée d'Orsay in Paris (1980-86), the refurbishment of the Musée National d'Art Moderne at the Centre Pompidou (1982-85), and the redevelopment of the Piazza Cadorna in Milan (2000). As an architect and designer Gae Aulenti became famous worldwide, and some of her projects are still in progress.
