Libero Rutilo, born in Montreal, spent his youth alternating between Italy and Canada. After graduating with a degree in Industrial Design from the University of Montreal in 2005, he moved to Milan where he worked with various leading design firms. Ekaterina Shchetina was born in Krasnodar city, southern Russia. She too felt the call to move to Milan, where she completed her studies and began working in the field of interior design. In 2012 Libero and Ekaterina found DesignLibero: a multidisciplinary design studio that offers creative services in interiors, products, graphic design and art direction.
