Chiaramonte & Marin

Chiaramonte & Marin, born in 1961 and 1964 respectively, evolved from designers to glass artisans through extensive exposure to Murano glassworks. Alfredo Chiaramonte, from Bologna, studied at the Venice Architecture Faculty, while Marco Marin, born in Venice, specialized in industrial design at the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1989, they founded Designstudio, exploring various design sectors, especially glass. Collaborations with Murano companies fused diverse fields, producing acclaimed blown glass items. Their teaching at the European Center for Architectural Heritage and collaborations with renowned brands, including Andromeda International and Calligaris, solidify their impact. Award-winning, their works grace international museums like the Correr Museum in Venice and MOMA in San Francisco, with a notable Venice Biennale collaboration with Yoko Ono.
